Welcome Miguel Poveda-García joining our group from January 2022 as an academic visiting scholar.
Miguel Poveda-García was born in Pozohondo, Spain, in 1992. He received the BEng, M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in Telecommunications Engineering from Technical University of Cartagena, Spain, in 2014, 2016 and 2021 respectively. In August 2021 he started to work as a postdoctoral researcher in the Group of Electromagnetism Applied to Telecommunications at Technical University of Cartagena, Spain. From January 2022 to present, he is collaborating as a Visiting Academic Scholar with the Microwaves and Antenna Engineering Group at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK.
He was awarded the Spanish National Scholarship ‘Formación de Personal Investigador’ (FPI) to conduct the Ph.D. in 2017 and the Postdoctoral Spanish National Scholarship ‘Margarita Salas’ to collaborate as a Visiting Academic for two years in 2021. He obtained the ‘Cum Laude’ distinction for his Thesis and the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize, from Technical University of Cartagena, Spain.
His research interests include leaky-wave antennas and their application in telecommunication systems, internet of things and energy harvesting.
