Dr. Spyridon Daskalakis has been elected as the Associate Vice President of Conferences for the IEEE Council on RFID (CRFID). The IEEE CRFID brings together researchers, practitioners, and industry leaders working on radio frequency identification technologies and their applications across communications, sensing, and automation. In this new role, Dr. Daskalakis will support the coordination and development of global RFID-related conferences, fostering collaboration between academia and industry within the IEEE community.
Dr. Daskalakis currently serves as Assistant Professor in Radio Electronics for Sensors and Wireless Communications at Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK. His research focuses on low-power wireless systems, sensors, and energy-harvesting technologies for sustainable IoT applications.
