PhD student Weiguang Song second prize winnder in the EuMW 2026 Tom Brazil Award Essay competition

Congratulations to our PhD student Weiguang Song on winning second prize in the EuMW 2026 Tom Brazil Award Essay competition.

His work, titled ‘Toward Sustainable Multi-Beam Satellite Communications through Dynamic Load-Aware Microwave Power Amplifier Design’, supervised by Dr. Haijun Fan and Prof. George Goussetis, explores power amplifier design based on the active reflection coefficient (ARC) distribution of multi-beam integrated active antenna arrays. The proposed approach has the potential to improve energy efficiency and reduce reliance on isolators, enabling lighter and more compact hardware for more sustainable satellite communications.
