Combining the expertise of many academics in the Microwave and Antenna Engineering Group in Heriot-Watt University, we are pushing the research forefront on integrated active arrays and various applications, including:
From technology aspects:
- Active array modelling, involving non-linear and memory effects;
- Linearisation techniques;
- Wideband, high-efficient power amplifier MMIC and circuit design;
- Channel precoding and equalisation involving transceiver non-reciprocal;
- Active array loadpull effect and its mitigation approaches;
From application aspects:
- Satellite multi-beam antenna systems;
- Cellular base-station antenna systems;
- Physical-layer wireless systems, including directional modulation and radio frequency fingerprinting;
The details of the 4-by-4 active antenna testbed can be accessed by clicking below.
