
Dr. Lu Qian received the B.Eng. degree (Hons.) in Information Engineering and the M.S. degree in Information and Communication Systems from South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in 2016 and 2019, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Birmingham, U.K., in 2024.
Prior to joining Heriot-Watt University, he worked as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham, where his research focused on 3D-printed microwave and millimetre-wave components and antennas for satellite communication systems.
Since March 2026, he has been a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Heriot-Watt University, working on power amplifier and RF integrated circuit design.
