Louis Simonnet received his Engineering degree in Aerospace Engineering from IPSA (Institut Polytechnique des Sciences Avancées), France, in 2025. During his studies, he completed an academic exchange at the University of Salford, Manchester, United Kingdom, where he specialized in Mechatronics and Automation.

During his studies, he completed an internship in digital signal processing at Thales Alenia Space in Toulouse, France, in 2025. His work focused on developing signal-processing solutions to correct geolocation errors associated with sparse active antenna arrays. He subsequently worked briefly as an R&D Engineer at ALTEN, where he contributed to the development and evaluation of orbit prediction algorithms for Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites.

He is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree between Celestia-Uk and Heriot-Watt University, as part of the European project SPARE within the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Doctoral Networks programme. His research focuses on resilient Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) using Low Earth Orbit (LEO) Signals of Opportunity (SoOp). His current research interests include resilient PNT, LEO satellite constellations, signals of opportunity, satellite communications, navigation systems, signal acquisition and processing.
