Dr. Spyridon Daskalakis, commonly known as Spyros, is an Assistant Professor at Heriot-Watt University, specializing in Radio Electronics for Sensors and Wireless Communications. He holds a Ph.D. from Heriot-Watt University’s renowned Antenna Engineering Group. Born in Megali Vrysi, a village in Heraklion, Crete, Greece, Spyros pursued his engineering education at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Technical University of Crete, excelling in both his undergraduate and master’s studies.

Before joining Heriot-Watt University, Dr. Daskalakis worked as a Senior Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Engineer at Cirrus Logic in Edinburgh. He also has experience in satellite communications from his tenure at Celestia UK. His research focuses on developing ultra-low-power, cost-effective embedded systems, and sensors, with significant contributions to RF and wireless communication technologies.
