Panagiota Kontou was born in Athens, Greece. She received the diploma of Electrical and Computer Engineering with a specialization in Electronics, from the Polytechnic School of Xanthi, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, in 2017, and the M.Sc. in Embedded Systems (Distinction) from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK in 2018. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Heriot-Watt University working on the design and implementation of wireless human vital signs detection system. In 2019 she won the 1st Year Postgraduate Research Prize from the School of Eng. and Physical Sciences, Heriot-Watt University. Her research interests include embedded systems design and implementation, microwave circuits, RADARs and sensors for healthcare and assistive living applications.
