Panagiota Kontou was born in Athens, Greece. She received the diploma of Electrical and Computer Engineering with a specialization in Electronics, from the Polytechnic School of Xanthi, Democritus University of Thrace, Greece, in 2017, and the M.Sc. in Embedded Systems (Distinction) from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, UK in 2018. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Heriot-Watt University working on the design and implementation of wireless human vital signs detection system. In 2019 she won the 1^st Year Postgraduate Research Prize from the School of Eng. and Physical Sciences, Heriot-Watt University. Her research interests include embedded systems design and implementation, microwave circuits, RADARs and sensors for healthcare and assistive living applications.
